Does your business need to get more of its staff and customers online?

10th April 2017

Many businesses are using digital technology to revolutionise the way they operate. From manufacturing processes, to service delivery, to marketing and communications – the business world is undergoing an extraordinary digital transformation.

But not everyone is equipped for this digital age. Nearly 1 in 5 adults in Wales are still not online and in some places that figure is as high as 1 in 3. Both staff and customers are facing challenges. Many people are being left behind.

During Responsible Business Week (24-28 April), Digital Communities Wales will be shining a light on this issue and asking how businesses can drive forward a ‘digital revolution’ which includes everyone.

Breakfast Briefing:
Supporting People to Get Online – The Role for Responsible Businesses
Thursday 27 April, 8.00am – 9.30am
Cardiff City Stadium, Leckwith Road, Cardiff, CF11 8AZ

In this briefing, we’ll provide an introduction to digital inclusion and explain the scale of the issue in Wales, its implications, the role businesses can play in eradicating the problem and the social and economic benefits of doing so. We’ll highlight how businesses can develop strategies and policies for digital inclusion and provide advice on embedding digital inclusion into day-to-day business activities.

The session will be led by Karen Lewis and Matt Lloyd from Digital Communities Wales (DCW) who have been working to reduce digital exclusion in Wales for over 12 years now. Between them they have extensive experience of advising organisations on how to cut digital exclusion in the communities where they operate.

Breakfast refreshments will be served on arrival. Places are free but please register in advance at https://responsible-business-and-digital-inclusion.eventbrite.co.uk
